Precision gears for delicate applications

Drive technology: Premiere for Melior Motion: The manufacturer presents its precision gearboxes at the Schaeffler Group stand.

„For the first time, we are exhibiting our drive solutions together with Schaeffler. As the leading international industrial trade fair, the Hannover Messe is the ideal platform for this premiere,“ reports Martina Zaremba, Head of Sales and Marketing at Melior Motion. The manufacturer of drive technology from Hameln in Lower Saxony has been part of the Schaeffler Group since February. The two companies will therefore be presenting their portfolio together at trade fairs in future.

The drive technology of the company from Lower Saxony is already used in numerous robotics and automation solutions, for example in packaging and medical technology, in machine tools and in welding applications. According to the company, the central characteristics of the PSC series are its high precision as well as low noise level and lifelong minimal backlash. The design elements used are decisive here, and interested parties can take a close look at them using a gearbox model on show in Hanover. „This also shows the reason why accuracy is maintained for at least 20,000 operating hours: the patented spring mechanism,“ says Zaremba. Other unique selling points are a conically toothed planetary and a helically toothed input stage. The former is largely responsible for the precision, as the teeth mesh without play. Both together ensure quiet and low-vibration performance. The drive solutions from Melior Motion are up to ten times more precise than cycloidal drives, with a backlash of < = 0.1 angular minute and a lost motion of < = 0.6 angular minute, according to the manufacturer.
